Speakers

Jacqueline Allison, Board Chair, Canstar Resources, Non Executive Director, Laramie Resources Ltd. and Director, Vejon Health Ltd.
Dr. Allison brings more than 20 years of Canadian and international experience at major institutions in the fields of mineral economics, financial analysis, investment management and investor relations. Dr. Allison is Principal Consultant at Allison Consulting, a business consulting firm. Prior thereto, Dr. Allison was VP Investor Relations and Strategic Analysis for Augusta Group of Companies, a mining sector-focused management group, from January 2018 to December 2019, with similar senior executive capacities at Dominion Diamond Corp., a mining company, from November 2016 to January 2018 and Hudbay Minerals Inc., a mining company, from January 2015 to March 2016. Prior to that, she served as a VP and Research Analyst at various banking institutions, including BMO Harris Investment Management Inc., a wealth management firm, from 2007 to 2012. Dr. Allison is the past-Chair of the Management and Economics Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), a former Trustee of the CIM Foundation and is currently a Corporate Director for several public and private companies. She is also a member of the Humber Institute BCom Finance Degree Program Advisory Committee. Dr. Allison holds an MSc (Applied) in Mineral Exploration and a PhD in Mineral Economics from McGill University and is a Professional Geoscientist (Ontario), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Fellow of CIM (FCIM).



Bob McFarlane, Member Board of Directors, Definity Financial
Mr. McFarlane is a retired financial executive and corporate director. From 1994 to 2000, Mr. McFarlane served as EVP, CFO and Secretary-Treasurer of Clearnet Communications Inc., a former publicly-traded wireless telecommunications company. He then served as EVP and CFO of TELUS Corporation until 2012. Since leaving TELUS, Mr. McFarlane has been active on various corporate and not-for-profit boards. He currently chairs the Information Technology Advisory Council of the University of British Columbia and is on the board of Definity Financial Corporation where he Chairs the Audit Committee. He was a member of the board of trustees of Queen’s University from 2013 to 2022, following which he was awarded the Director Emeritus designation. Mr. McFarlane previously served as a director and chair of the audit, risk and conduct review committee at HSBC Bank Canada, as a director, deputy chair of the board, and chair of the audit and risk committee for Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Company of Canada, a P&C insurer, as a director, chair of the audit and risk committee, and chair of the special committee at InnVest Real Estate Investment Trust, a former publicly-traded real estate entity, and as a director and chair of the audit committee at Entertainment One Ltd., a former publicly-traded global entertainment studio. Mr. McFarlane holds a B.Com. from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University and the ICD.D and GCB.D designations.
